KNOWING MANDAILING COFFEE
WE BRING INDONESIAN FINEST COFFEE TO THE WORLD
As coffee growers and lovers, Indonesians are blessed with unique and delicious coffee varieties. From this easternmost point of the Old World, Indonesian coffee spread to the Arab World, to America, to Western Europe, and beyond.
In addition, many islands in Indonesia are surrounded by many volcanoes. Therefore, Indonesia is rich in mountains and rich in fertile soil making it ideal for growing coffee. It's no wonder that some of the world's most famous coffees are grown in Indonesia's Malay archipelago: Sumatra, Sulawesi and Java. About 15% of all coffee grown in Indonesia is Arabica. Sumatra is the second largest island in the Republic of Indonesia. In the history of Indonesian coffee, the area where Arabica coffee was first planted was Pakantan Village, Mandailing Natal. No wonder then that Mandailing Natal became a well-known Arabica coffee producing area. In Sambang Banyak Village, Jae Ulu Pungud, there are many coffee plantations that are tens or even hundreds of years old which are believed to have a connection with this history. Sumatran Mandheling coffee is grown on the slopes of the volcanic Mount Leuser near the port of Padang in the Balak region of west-central Sumatra.
